Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway - The Early Years Volume 2 1987
During the mid to late 1980s I shot around 20 hours of video of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Almost all of the material is in good condition and has transfered to PC at a good quality.

I used a Sony HVC4000P video camera, a Sony SL-F1UB portable video recorder, an external microphone, and shot mainly on tripod.

All editing on these DVDs was carried out on a PC from DV format captures. The quality is as good as I can get with the equipment used at the time.

The main feature is an hour long and features the Bagnall 0-6-0ST Byfield No 2

and Peckett 0-4-0ST John running push-pull to Hailes Abbey.

This includes a cab ride on Byfield No 2.

The first day of operation to Winchcombe Station is featured, on the weekend of 28th and 29th March 1987, with Byfield No2and John double heading.

Normal services to Winchcombe, with Peckett John,

Class 14 Diesel Hydraulic D9537,

and Hunslet 15" 0-6-0ST King George

Toddington Model Railway Exhibition.

Santa Specials with Peckett John and Hunslet King George

Mince Pie Specials with Peckett John and Hunslet King George

There are two extra features one 20 minute one about rebuilding at Winchcombe, signal box being rebuilt, platform relayed and some track work. And one 10minute one of Toddington, including repainting of the station. a few shots in the yard including a Manor, and a Fowler 040DM, restoration of SR Merchant Navy 35006, Gerry on his dumper truck, repairs to the Peckett, D9537 & King George shunting, views from the roof of the Auto Coach, and views of BR 2-6-0 4MT 76077.

Locations include Toddington Station, fields south of the Toddington, various views near Hailes Abbey bridge, Byfield No 2 cab, Didbrook bridges. Winchcombe Station, A46 road bridge, and some allotments north of Winchcombe Station which are now houses!

The DVD was edited on the PC, encoded with TMPGENC with 2 pass variable bit rate, and duplicated on good quality media, all discs are printed.
