Warwickshire Railway The Early Years Volume 5 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
During the mid to late 1980s I shot around 20 hours of video of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Almost all of the material is in good condition and has transfered to PC at a good quality. I used a Sony HVC4000P video camera, a Sony SL-F1UB portable video recorder, an external microphone, and some tripoding. All editing on these DVDs was carried out on a PC from the original material captured to PC. This DVD continues from after the Ultimate Great Western Weekend with the 1990 Santa Specials, this includes a cancelled day due to too much snow. Locomotives operating them include GWR Pannier Tank 7752 and large Prairie 6106 |

Byfield No 1 is featured in service in 1991
The 1991 Autumn Gala was underwhelming compared to the Ultimate
Great Western Weekend, but was still interesting. Locomotives included
Byfield, GWR 7752 and 1874 built Haydock Foundry
0-6-0T Bellerophon, Defiant was on display.
About a month later there was the 1991 Autumn Diesel Gala, this featured
Class 14 Diesel Hydraulic D9539, and Class 03 03 069
The final shots are of the 1991 Santa Specials with 7752
Locations include Toddington Station, Winchcombe Station, Hailes Abbey Bridge,
Gretton Loop, heading out of Winchcombe towards the tunnel, the east end of the tunnel,
my favourite field south of Toddington Station, and the A46 road bridge
As I was unable to encode to high enough quality otherwise, the extras became
disc 6.
The DVD was edited on the PC, encoded with TMPGENC XP. with 2 pass variable
bit rate, and duplicated with Ritek G05 media, all discs are printed. |
